Vision Academy Charter School’s lottery is on Friday, February 14th at 5:00 PM. 

IMPORTANT NOTE – Due to the Super Bowl parade, the lottery will be held VIRTUALLY via Zoom. This means no one will be on campus/in person.

Attending the lottery is optional, NOT mandatory. 

All applicant families will find out the status of their child’s application (i.e. offered a spot or waitlisted) via email during the lottery. Instructions on further steps will be outlined in the email. Applicant parents can also view updates on their School Mint account. They can use this link to login – https://vacharter.schoolmint.net/signin

If applicant parents do not receive an email, they must contact the main office (secretary@vacharter.org) immediately to confirm that they opted into emails on School Mint. Although some grade levels may not have open seats at the time of the lottery, please be advised that this is subject to change, as spots often open up after the lottery.

We were informed this afternoon that William Penn School District will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow.

To ensure the safety of scholars and staff traveling to school, Vision Academy Charter School will also operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow (January 21, 2025).

Please keep the following in mind for tomorrow morning:

1.   We are notifying bus companies and the buses should also operate on a two-hour delay
2. Our 2-Hour Delay Start Time is 10:00 am
3.  We will begin serving breakfast at 9:30am.

Due to potentially hazardous road conditions tomorrow, Vision Academy scholars will have a Flexible Instructional Day, which means that scholars will be learning VIRTUALLY tomorrow (Jan 6th). This means that scholars will NOT report to the building/campus tomorrow.

A Flexible Instructional Day means that all scholars will remain home, and instruction will occur inside the home. Most of the instruction will be asynchronous, meaning that teachers will give scholars assignments to complete.

By 9am (at the latest), teachers will post assignments on the Learning Hub for their regularly scheduled classes. This link can also be found on our school’s website. Please look for additional announcements/information from your child’s teacher on Class Dojo. Teachers will be available via email and/or Class Dojo from 9:30am to 3:45pm tomorrow to provide assistance and answer any questions.

Special Education and ESL Services – Our Special Education and ESL teachers will continue to provide small group support via Zoom or Google Meet during scheduled times per the daily schedule. Teachers may also create daily schedules for their scholars and will communicate with families regarding Zoom or Google Meet links and support schedules. Please refer to page 27 of the Parent and Scholar Handbook for online learning expectations and the code of conduct.

Expectations for Scholars:

• Completing Work – Scholars who do not have access to technology or the internet are expected to complete their assignments and return the assignments to school once regular classes resume.

• Completing Virtual Assignments – Scholars participating virtually and with access to the Learning Hub or Class Dojo are expected to complete asynchronous assignments for short-term closures during the designated school day.

• Seeking Help – Scholars and their families are encouraged to communicate with teachers if they encounter any problems or have questions regarding their assignments.

• Scholar Attendance – Attendance for Flexible Instruction Days (FID) depends on completing assigned work. Scholars will be marked “present” in the student information system if the completed assignments are returned or if the online work is completed. Scholars will be marked “absent” if the assignments are not returned or if the online work is not completed. Scholars should return the assignments to their teachers upon the school’s reopening or upload the packets into the Learning Hub.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you about your child’s mid-trimester academic progress.

As a reminder, only 3rd through 8th grade scholars receive progress reports. This means that if your child is in grade K-2, he/she will not receive a progress report.

If you are a 3rd-8th grade family, you will find a mid-trimester progress report available on Infinite Campus to inform you of your child’s current academic standing.

In this letter, you will find steps on how to access progress reports and report cards in Infinite Campus. Please click here to access the step-by-step guide on how to view these reports on Infinite Campus. Although the steps on this document say “report card”,  progress reports can be accessed by following the same steps.

This progress report will be titled “T1: Grade 3-8 Progress Report”. You are highly encouraged to utilize the Campus Parent App to stay on top of your child’s academic development.

Please note that limited seats are available for each grade level, and enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The Level-up Saturday School Program will be conducted on the following dates, running from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm:

• Saturday, February 24, 2024
• Saturday, March 2, 2024
• Saturday, March 9, 2024
• Saturday, March 16, 2024
• Saturday, March 23, 2024
• Saturday, April 6, 2024
• Saturday, April 13, 2024

Please enroll your student/s by completing the survey before Thursday, February 15, 2024. If you have multiple students in grades 3-8, please complete a separate enrollment survey for each scholar. Lunch will be provided, and there will be incentives for students with perfect attendance in the Level-up Saturday Program.

Please be aware that students with unexcused absences may be removed from the program to accommodate those on the waiting list. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
