Respect
The Power of 3 reminds us that respect begins with how we treat ourselves, how we treat others, and how we care for our community.
At Vision Academy, belonging starts with the values we practice every day — respect, active learning, community, empathy, responsibility, and self-control.
Each month gives our school community an opportunity to intentionally focus on one of the values that helps every scholar feel supported, respected, and connected.
The Power of 3 reminds us that respect begins with how we treat ourselves, how we treat others, and how we care for our community.
Scholars are encouraged to engage, participate, ask questions, explore ideas, and take ownership of their learning.
We learn how our choices affect others and how each scholar can contribute positively to the VACS community.
Scholars practice understanding the feelings, perspectives, and experiences of others while showing kindness and compassion.
Scholars learn to take ownership of their actions, decisions, learning, responsibilities, and commitments.
Scholars develop strategies for managing emotions, making thoughtful choices, and responding appropriately in challenging situations.
Building character and belonging is a partnership between scholars, families, educators, counselors, and our broader community.
Scholars will receive content and activities through SEL classes, counselor sessions, and guest speakers.
Parents and families will receive content and activities from counselors, the FACE Team, and outside speakers.
Together, we create a school community where every scholar knows they belong.
